Reception Intake

St. Mary's C.E. (A) Primary School is a Voluntary Aided primary school. The Governing Board is the admission authority for the school, and the school is required to act in accordance with the School Admissions Code. The admissions process is coordinated by Oldham Council (the Local Authority) and the school liaises with the Local Authority and Manchester Diocesan Board of Education on admissions issues. The Admissions Policy is reviewed annually and, following consultation on any changes, is published on our website and is also available from the school office. 

All applicants for a place in Reception Class must complete the online Primary School Common Application Form (CAF) through the Local Authority they live in. If you live in the Oldham Council area, this will be Oldham Council. If you live in another Local Authority, it will be through them.

Applicants who wish their application be considered under Criteria 4 or 5 (church attendance) will also need to complete the Supplementary Information Form, which is available below. This can be scanned and returned via the Local Authority, or can be returned straight to school.

The deadline to apply for a Primary Reception place for September 2027 is 15th January 2027, at 5pm.
